Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared by Judyvv. Hazy dark red to red-brownish color, average sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is sweet, sweet malts, sweet wood. Reminds me of cognac barrel aged beers as well. Taste malts, sweetish, some alcohol, again some wood and a reminder of cognac BA beers. How and why? No idea, but I definitely like it a lot. Lovely heavy barley wine, like a barley wine should be imo. Love it.

375 ml bottle. Unclear dark brown body with a nice, dense beige head. Nice, strong aroma of sweetish malt, dry fruit, caramel and warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, dry fruit, caramel, pleasant bitterness and warming alcohol. Full bodied with a long lasting aftertaste. A nice big beer, not really that complex but sure nice.

Bottle. A hazy, dark amber to brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head leaving lacings. The aroma has a solid dose of chocolate, with roasted malts, dark sugar and pine cones, some resin and fluor toothpaste. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with caramel malts, some dark sugar and a touch of pine cones. Lasting finish with a bit too much alcohol, but there’s sure something nice going on anyway. 151110

Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, sweet, caramel and dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Flaske 375ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Drukket på Nerstranda 25 Okt 15. Mørk brunrød. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Daler fort. Litt filigranser. Rik & god fruktaroma. Mye fersken & plommer. Vinøs karakter. Smaken har en innledning av sherry men blir overveldende alkoholisk ganske fort.

Fonefan 110415. Red dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, alcohol. Flavour is sweet, alcohol, sugar, caramel, raisin, dried fruits. Full body. Nice beer.

Botella 37.5 cl de el Lupulo. Tomada en el momento el 12-09-2015. (r30) con fecha de cons pref 21-08-2022n. Color Cerezo oscuro con espuma beige oscuro persistente. Aromas maltosos dulces caramelizadas tostados con toques de frutas pasas. Sabores también maltosos y cereales dulces y con frutos pasos con ligeros toques de mieles y afrutados, acabando con ligero amargo bien combinado. Cuerpo intenso con 12 Vol algo pastoso, fino y con espuma con buena sensación alcoholica desde el principio. Bastante buena, para repetir sin duda.

Many thanks to Roman for sharing. Sweetish-sticky nose. The beer starts quite sweetish, round. Sweetish smooth body, malty, round. Fresh, malty dry, fresh and sugary. Malt, plums and cherries, fresh, malty-sweetness, nice smooth. Fresh malty, sweetish sugary. As the beer wants to be.

375ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Clear mahogany coloured body with a deep shade of dark red. Slowly diminishing fawn-coloured head. Smell of raisin, dough, and dark caramel. Complex taste profile of dark malts, raisin, honey, and liquorice. Lingering dry ending of ripe fruits with warming alcohol. Full bodied. Not overly sweet. Lovely slow sipper (tasting session with Elisabeth and Stefan at room 306, Breiviklia, Tromsø 03.06.2015).
