An exceptional, strong, dark, malty brew. Matured for 3 months in 12-year old single malt whisky barrels. Its restrained hop bitterness allows the rich dark ale to marry perfectly with the finest whisky notes without either dominating the other. A beer for those cold dark winter nights when you need something special.

Bottle shared by Madmitch. Black color, average sized beige to light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark fruits, plums, slightly raisins though itโs a bit more sweet imo than normally I get with raisins. Taste malts, dark fruits, plums, slightly alcohol. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle - Boozy bourbon, chocolate and dark malts. Dirty dark brown with a brown head. Dark malts and sugars, boozy heat, barrel notes and a long finish. Bourbon and heat overwhelms.

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to our New England Chugmeister. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Fine carbonation. Sweetish and tangy dark fruits. Very mild whiskey, trace of alcohol spice. Semi dry finish brings light berry fruits. Pleasant and engaging.

Bottle split at Bruceโs pad, thanks to Ell-Kay-Ess, 28/05/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan swirl and egework. Nose is light spice, toffee, vegetal notes, candle wax, papyrus, whisky tinge. Taste comprises dark fruits, sherry twang, dark berry fruits, spice, hint of booze, fruitloaf. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with port notes. Ok stuff, relatively simple but pleasing!

Bottle shared in London - picked up at Kristoffer Wines. Pours clearish, amber-brown with a bubbly tan head. The nose holds meaty dark fruits, brown bread, light prune. Medium sweet flavor with a bit of red wine, berry fruits, cherry, prune, light bready sweetness, low earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Well balanced to finish, more ripe fruits, berries, subtle wood character, light alcohol, low bitterness. Solid.

Cask at the sportsman croxley. Cloudy dark amber colour with nice beige head. Big oak whisky aroma. Flavour is initially sweet with some vanilla big oak boozy whisky. Some wood tanin in the finish. Generally slick palate with soft carbonation. A liittle too sweet.
