When we were young, we were told good things come to those who wait. As tempting as it was to rush through, we let time prevail. Those words of advice ring true for this dark and decadent imperial sweet stout, aged bourbon barrels with notes of caramel and chocolate, coming together for a truly unique experience.

Bottle shared by tfontana. Aroma of soft spice, chocolate, bourbon. Flavor has a soft caramel or sweet malt background with a mildly spicy bourbon finish. No harsh alcohol finish. REAL nice.

2021 500mL bottle shared by tfontana on 1/11/25.
Clear dark mahogany with ruby highlights. Small, tan head to ring.
A mix of the 2022 BT and 2023 KC with the bourbon element light, and the dark fruit moderate, but maybe a bit too strong. Less alcohol and/or spice with a good mellowness.
In the mouth it's rich, malty, sweet, spicy, balanced and with ample, but well-attenuated malt. Juicy dark fruits, maybe a touch of lead. Definitely get the age on it in its mellowness with soft, chocolatey, not fudgey or syrupy textures and no alcohol. Really nice rye spice and lingering dark fruit and heavy black pepper.

Bottle pour from the brewery. Virtually opaque brown w/nice viscosity, trace lacing. Aroma is strong peaty/roasted malt, spicy rye. Taste is strong roasted malt, mild peat, toffee, rye, bourbon. Smooth, slightly frothy, no sign of alcohol. Better balanced than previous variants today.
Thanks Tom nice spicy notes, toffee, barrel, rye. This is quite nice.
