Black colour, off-white head. Light sour aroma, citric acid, smoke, red berries. Sourish flavour, red fruits, caramel, chocolate, some wood. sour finish, coffee, berries, gooseberries. Different than I was expecting, but not bad, not bad at all.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours rich brown with a thick, beige foam head. Tangy dark malts abound with other notes of earth, dark berries, mellow dry cocoa. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Tangy, dark berries on the finish with an off-note of menthol and further cocoa. A bit odd. Doesn’t come together.

Keg at GBBF ’14, day 1, 12/08/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown/light black with moderate tan spotting. Nose is cocoa rub, soured dark fruits, earthy, brown bread. Taste comprises dark red berries, spice, light cocoa, tarte dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Bit of a mish mash of stuff going on here but it works!
