Cask-conditioned at Gloucester Beer Festival, 31/3/2017. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, white, head. English hop aroma. Flavour had hedgerow fruits, some biscuity malts and a dryish finish. Fine.

Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, very modest carbonation. Smooth malts with light creamy sweetness. Smoke! Bloody smoke! Grinds my gears when brewers put smoked malts in a beer like this without saying so on the bottle. Modest ripe orange hops. Semi dry finish. Smoky linger. Exasperating.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Offie and Toffee. Pours clear, amber-gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has notes of ripening citrus, toasted grains, orange peel, tobacco ash and leaves. Medium sweet flavour with more ashy notes, lightly bitter citrus peel, sugary grains, minerals. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more grainy and crackery malts, ashy off-note, leaves, orange peel, some berries, toasted sugars, aged pine. Really messy. If I was a homebrewer and this was my first attempt, I would be disappointed in myself.

Cask (gravity) @ EBF18 2014, 18th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE. [ As Bedlam India Pale Ale ].Light unclear medium amber orange color with a average, open and frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet fruit, sugary, malt, light hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140807]

Gravity dispense at EBF ’18, 07/08/14. Hazed golden amber with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is caramel malt, light infusion of smoke, toasted marsh mallows. Taste comprises an earthy hop presence, floral notes, light citric peel, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Drinkable effort but pretty so so for style.
