Bottle 33 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a tiny, rough off-white head. Aroma is not entirely pleasant, sort of like a very boozy and cheap Sherry without refinement. The body is surprisingly thin. As so often barrel-aging can take the body out of a solid beer and in this case replace it with a rather tart liquid with no distinct rum traces. What you have left is basically a severely infected Quad with a massive dose of booze at the end. Not horrible, but no real pleasure either. 220916

330ml bottle from trade with Omhper! Many thanks. Pours a deep mahogany, good creamy tan head. Aroma is lovely dark quad fruits and syrupy rum. Taste is smooth, rich and absolutely delicious. Well-integrated rum with boozy dark fruits and chewy malts. Glad I didn’t share this!

Bottle on the 42nd floor thanks to Colin. It pours murky deep brown with a small+ beige head. The nose is rich, oily, sweet fruits, rummy action, fruit cake, brown bread, earth, wood and warming alcohol. The taste is rich, chewy, sweet, oily, boozy, rum, fruit cake, toast, quite juicy, warming alcohol and spice. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Chewy, fruit and warming. A rather impressive quad. A good sipper.

Tower 42 Tasting 2. Thanks to Cloin. Light haze on this amber beer, small tan head. Palate is airy and smooth. Modest fine carbonation. Sweet malts, light caramel - cream. Mild rum and a trace of vanilla. Pleasant ripe fruits accentuated by returning rum. Smooth semi dry finish. Pleasantly well integrated.
