With the holidays upon us, we’re honoring the Czech tradition of crafting festive specialty lagers to celebrate the season by welcoming our own: introducing Veselý, a Sváteční Speciál (“Festive Lager”).

Veselý is a special lager produced in limited quantities. It’s a deep copper-hued beer built on floor-malted Czech malts, Sladek and whole leaf Saaz hops and our house Czech yeast strain; it was spunded for natural carbonation.

On the nose, the gentle spicy and floral hop notes of whole leaf Saaz meld with honey and biscuity malts. Fresh baked bread and candied ginger dance on the palate with a medium body and dry finish. Despite the higher alcohol by volume (6% abv), Veselý remains eminently drinkable—perfect for when an old friend shows up at the holiday dinner table.

16oz can pours a clear copper amber with some head that faded fast. Whole wheat bread, malt and some nuts on the nose. Lightly sweet with notes of cream soda. Malt, cream soda, yeast on the tongue. Simple. Effective. Peppy finish, some bite. Dry. Crazy easy to drink.

16 oz can. Aroma shows toasted grain, mild mineral and toffee.
Soft toffee caramel malt background with a lightly bitter citrus peel hop. Ends really clean with a touch of lingering toffee. Very balanced and super easy to drink.

Canned 12/16/24, drunk 2/9/25, compliments of CLW.
Clear amber, small-to-medium-sized, off-white head.
Moderate toast and good minerality with low hopping. Mellow, clean. Warming shows a bit more fruit and caramel.
Subtle fruity undertones, citrusy slightly. Excellent base malt with a hint of hazelnut, perhaps. Excellent, refreshing bitterness, though not as much hop flavor, letting the malt do most of the work. Clean, crisp, balanced finish. Wildly drinkable.
