Das Dunkle 🕶️ wird Bio 🍀 und zwickelig ☁️ und dieses Bier löst das klassische Dunkle der Brauerei ab. Dabei gefällt es mir wirklich gut. Es hat tolle röstmalzige 🥞 Aromen, ohne zu süß oder pickig zu sein. Es ist süffig-herb und lässt sich angenehm trinken. Kein großer Aromenreigen, aber das was da ist, ist toll und da es sich um ein klassisches Trinkbier handelt passt es für mich so.

Original review text: Mit der WIederbelebung der Goldfassl-Reihe wurden nicht nur alle Logos der Brauerei erneuert, sondern auch das Dunkle als Goldfassl Dunkles eingeführt. Wer also Gefallen am Ottakringer Dunkel hatte, greift 2018 zum Goldfassl Dunkel. Es ist ein sehr süßes Dunkles österreichischer Prägung mit eher eingeschränkten Aromen, aber einem vollen, wenn auch fast nur süßen, Körper.

Appearance: Clear nutty brown color with a small off white head that leaves a some lacing.
Aroma: Faint caramel malty nose.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweet caramel malty. Some roasted notes.
Overall impression: Plain average dunkel.
Personal stats: Bottle from a workmate. Bought at a local grocery store in Vienna.

Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2012, Bratislava. Pours clear amber with a white head. Grain, bread, vomit, brown sugar and dust.

RBESG ’12, Bratislava. Grand Tasting at Richtar Jakub. 50cl Bottle. Clear brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, light toasted malts, caramel, raisins. Flavour is medium sweet, caramel, raisins, light sour, metallic bitter finish. Light bodied.

Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2012. Dark orange/brown appearance with a small tan head. Toffee, fairly rich caramel, sugary, straw aroma. Quite sweet caramel, old grainy flavor. Not good.

New rating: Well, with a rating as crappy as the old one (bad notes), I had to rerate it, and heavy provided it (thanks!). Aanyway. Copper-brown body with a medium sized off white head, relatively small. Sweetish aroma, caramel, coffee, somewhat nice. MIld, bready taste - rye bread, milk, toast... plums perhaps, but not that much. Ok dunkel, nothing more, nothing less. Funny, the numbers ended up being identical. Old rating:I must’ve been generous... amber-brown body. Soft sweet malty tnose, some plums. Yoghurty soft plummy taste. Hm.
