Bottle split at L42, thanks to Scoopey, 05/01/18. Golden orange with a decent light beige covering. Nose is earthy fruits, caramel, sugars, light oxidisation, brown bread. Taste comprises rich malts, light spice, biscuit, fruit cake, dates, prunes, brown sugar, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad ... has aged pretty gracefully.

Bottle shared at L42. It pours clear deep brown with a medium white head (impressive given the vintage). The aroma is rich, malt – driven, cereal, toasted nut, mellow oxidation, brown bread marmalade. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, resinous, toasted nut, wood, varnish, tangy marmalade, tannin, caramel and toffee. Medium body and fine, but spritely carbonation. Great condition for the age. Drinks rather well.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Paul. Clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry and amazingly, some decent carbonation. Fluffy malts, light caramel and cream and a trace of toffee. Modest orange peel. A light spicy bitterness. Tangy fruity finish. In very good shape for a 30 year old beer. There is some oxidisation but it doesn't dominate. Stands on it's own as a decent beer without taking into account its age.

Bottle shared on Level 42. 2018 kick off session. 05/01/2018. Thanks to Paul. A pale amber coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is cola cubes, brown sugar, light mint, little age. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, sticky brown malts, amber, cola cubes, unrefined sugars. Palate is medium sweet, sticky, moderate airy carbaontion. . Nice. Well up well with the age.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours clear honey-gold with a small, creamy white head. The nose holds oxidation, pale bread, a little hay, honey, caramel. Light to medium sweet flavour with more oxidation, caramel, aged orange. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some oily toffee, more bread, notes of oxidation. Not bad overall.
