Keg at Casc. It pours hazy brown with a small beige head. The aroma is rich, roasted malt, loads of coffee, toasted nut, damp wood and cocoa. The taste is crisp, tart, mild acidity, roasted malt, coffee, toasty, red berry, redcurrant, wood with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Sounds bizarre, but works really well. Good one.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours clear amber-brown with a creamy khaki head. Interesting aroma, certainly some coffee, along with tangy ripe berries, leather, a little earth. Light sweet flavour with mellow acidity, some more leathery berries, coffee grounds, earth, nips of cocoa. Light to medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Somewhat tart in the finish, with lemony acidity, more aged berry fruits, leather, prunes, toffee, understated coffee, a little woody dryness. Fairly good overall. Comes together reasonably well.

Keg at CBC Holburn. A dark brown copper coloured pour with a a fading beige top. Aroma is woody roast, woody coffee beans, tart lacto, tart raspberry fruit. Hint of chocolate no the nose as well. Palate is semi sweet and sour, pinch of acid, woody tannins, highish carbonation. Flavour is composed of woody earthy fruit, black forest gateau, tart cherry, little jammy fruits. Good complexity and fairly unique.

Keg at CBC Hairy Axe Wound, 19/12/16. Rich amber with a decent light beige head. Nose is big on coffee grinds and pretty much equal on soured fruit mash ... The coffee just edges it, light funk, dank wood. Taste comprises tarte red berry, fruit balsams, coffee less prominent than the fructis shmack this time round, modest Brett, funk, barnyard notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, puckering close. Interesting brew but a little disjointed and not one I’d rush back to.
