Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The nose is sweet, juicy dark fruits, treacle, rich roast, cocoa, umami, ash and mild acidity. The taste is rich roast, earth, charred wood, coffee grounds, mild acidity, burnt toast and some pithy citrus with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Robust and quaffable.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the brewers’ market. Pours deep black-brown with a frothy mocha head. Lots of heavy burnt malts in the nose, baking cocoa, ash. Light sweet flavor with some bitter coffee, scorched earth, bitter ash and scorched grain, espresso. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Strong roasty finish, lots of bittersweet cocoa, scorched earth, dried buried, raisins, ash. Quite robust. Good stuff overall.
