Monumental IPA has flavors of citrus and pine resin and floral aromas combined with a malty caramel background. This IPA shows a delicious, yet elusive balance between hop bitterness and malt flavors. We believe that Monumental IPA is a great example of a complex and balanced East Coast-style IPA.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 22 May 2022) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, toffee, citrus and pine needles. Fruity, malty taste with notes of apricots, citrus, caramel, pine needles and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, going in the English ESB direction. Nice one.

355ml bottle via Beer52; BB 13th Feb 2021. Drank at home on 9th Jun 2020 as I prepared a family BBQ. Golden amber body, sediment floating everywhere, short lived full white head, quickly turned to a thin covering and then a wisp and collar. Good piney nose and taste, decent malty base for an underlying sweetness. I like this sort of IPA, bored with the citrus cocktails, give me some proper bittering, piney hops every time!

Huh, this one's bottled late last July - will rerate fresher at some point hopefully. Anyway, amber body, white head. Citric, slightly oxidised, even vaguely tart aroma - nooot good, but not the beer's fault. The taste is much more balanced - peachy notes, light citric, the hops are still there, at least partly, medium to low bitterness, soft body, only minimal oxidation, but definitely doesn't feel fresh. Okay, slightly raised scores than it deserves in this shape and form to balance out the fact it's old.
