HB at home, big thanks to LKS, 15/12/14. Black with a decent tan covering that retains well. Nose is big coffee grinds, light spice, earthy roast, sweet underbelly, vanilla, dark toffee fudge. Taste comprises milk chocolate Bounty bar, coconut comes through, lighter coffee presence but still well evident, sweet licks, hint black pepper, faint liqourice. Medium body, fine carbonation, sweet close tempered with light roast so doesn’t get cloying. Solid coffee impy, good balance, pleasure to drink.

Draft at the brewery. Pours black with a thick beige cream head. Big coffee snout with accents of dark chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor, a touch syrupy, more cocoa, espresso, slight oily coconut, char. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Gooey chocolate on the finish with some bitter coffee, earthy bitterness, dark fruits. Quite robust and deep. Delicious.

Keg at Partizan. It pours black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich roast, earth, umami, salted liquorice, treacle, mild coconut, rocky road and oily notes. The taste is bitter, rich, roast, coffee, earth, mild acidity, peppery, espresso coffee, liquorice, toasty coconut, rocky road and tar with a dry, roasty finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich and robust. Decadent. Rather filthy.
