Draft at the brewery taproom during their Oktoberfest event. Pours clear red-brown with a faint, creamy tan head. Moderate dark malt nose with light roast, soft smoke and cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with nice chocolate notes, understated smoke, some burnt earth and dried berries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nice roast and smoke in the finish with rich baking cocoa, background smoked ham and berries. Solid. Good beer.

Keg at the brewery. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy, smoke, wood, honeyed ham and caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, earth, caramel, smoke, honey roast, pepper, grass and meat with a sweetish finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent rauchy action.

Keg at the brewery during my 40th bash, 11/10/14. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is smoked malt, smoked bacom, beachwood, toffee, brown sugar. Taste comprises smoked malt, smoked meat, biscuit tones, toffee. Medium bodied, fine cabronation, semi drying close. Decent Ruasch.

Keg at the brewery. Aroma is big salty blue cheese, sweaty, smokey, cooked ham. Clear ruby red, brown loose off white head, loose. Flavour is better, toasty, smoked malt, smoked sausage, lingering berry and light smoke. Palate is crisp, medium body, salty. Not as bad as the aroma suggested.
