On tap at the brewery. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Saison yeast aroma and some lemon fruit. That’s a good Saison. Clean. Hoppy dry funk and yeast. Pretty good. Light drinkablr sherbert hop saison. Good.

A ’not so’ one off keg, at the brewery 31/05/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is lemon rind, spice, bitter orange, woody tines, light apricot, tangy citrics. Taste comprises lemon peel, bready notes, yeast esters, floral, tangerine, clove. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with bitter citric and yeasty leanings. Decent enough saison.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear golden, minimal head. The nose is earthy, hay, spice, straw, toasted cereals, tinned fruits and mild sweetness. The taste is doughy, spicy, some sweetness, cereal, hay, fruit syrup and decent bitterness with sa dry, spicy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A touch cloying, but not bad.

Keg at the rake London bridge. Hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sharp lemon, loose bready malts, straw, low mineral. Not much saison yeast in the aroma. Flavour is flabby bread malts, sharp lemon citrus, orange and some hot alcohol. Finish is not very well attenuated, with slight sweetness, stale malts. Palate is doughy and flabby with moderately high carbonation. Poor saison.

Keg at the Rake - Borough Market, London. Pours mostly clear, yellw-gold with a creamy, white head. Lightly effervescent. Expressive Belgian yeast aroma with note of ripe lemon, biscuits, wheat and straw. Medium sweet flavor with lightly doughy wheat, more ripe citrus fruits, juicy and ripe lemon, slight bitter rind and hay, hints of alcohol. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes lightly warming with further Belgian yeast character, doughy wheat bread, white bread, faint floral notes, light balancing bitter hay, lemon rind and grass. Pretty nice, if a bit robust.
