Jack is back tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, small off white head. Palate is soft and light. Big milky sweet lactose. Licorice. Malt cream. Light piney hops bring very light bitterness. Semi dry finish. Way too much lactose, but drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at some hippy collective pop-up in Camden. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. Sweet brown bread on the nose, light earth, faint dark berries. Medium sweet flavor with mild earthy bitterness, more so,e what juicy berries, light chocolate, burnt toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, mild roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, some toasted pine. Not bad.

The taste is toasty, cocoa, caramel, earth, candied peel, roast, cocoa, toffee and ash earthy action with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. No depth. So-so.
