Cask at the Rake, 07/02/14. Light black with a moderate tan head that thins to the edge. Nose is treacle toffee, light cocoa, sugary, molassatastic, dark fruits. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, sweet notes, treacle toffee, soy sauce. Medium bodied with a little bite, semi vicsous, semi cloying close. Pretty poor show, no balance, pretty messy affair glad this was a third and a shared third at that !

Cask hand pump at the Bree - London. Meh, lots of tangy sark fruits, tar, burnt malts and dirt. Full bodied and oily. Black pour with a flimsy film cap. Tangy dark fruit finish, mild dark malts. Not excellent.

Bree Louise. Cask. Opaque dark brown - black beer, residual pale tan head. Rich tangy dark fruits, not quite sour but really tangy. Mellow dark chocolate. Touch of worcester sauce and violets before the smooth finish which also brings out the mild dark malts. Interesting!
