Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours brown with a bubbly tan head. The nose holds burnt toast, dry and leathery dark berries, some earth. Light sweet flavor with dry earth, toast, cocoa, light fruits, berry sugars. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Nicely balanced to conclude with moderate roast, char, cocoa and leathery berries. Good stuff.

Taste comprises fleshy fruits, cocoa powder, dark toffee fudge, fruity tang. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry light roasted finale with a chocolate tickle. Decent.

Pigs Ear. The Round Church, Hackney. Cask. Cloudy dark amber beer. Small pale tan head. Palate is light and a little dry. Mild carbonation. Good juicy dark fruits with the mellow dark malts. Whisper of coffee. Light dry finish. Pleasantly fruity.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2013. Very dark brown beer lasting tan head. Chocolate and some fruit on the aroma. Damson jam flavour in the mouth. Some sour fruit damson. Ok but not great.
