Retro reviews from Spring 2012 Wetherspoons Beer festival; apparently brewed exclusively for festival, I wonder what the remit was to make something completely uninspiring and mediocre.

Lightly hopped golden ale, in both aroma and taste. Pleasant enough to drink.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a faint, white foam head. Almost nothing in the aroma, just some faint straw. Almost nothing in the flavor, either. It’s faintly sweet with light plastic and light dough, and some faint straw. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Bland finish with mild tangy citrus and straw. This could be poor conditioning (and also a poor beer to start with) but as it is this is the worst beer of the spring JDW fest for me.

Cask at Sir John Oldcastle Farringdon. clear pale gold lasting cream head. Inoffensive golden ale. Nit much malt not much hop. Touch of lemon flavour. Just completely forgettable. Some grainy pale malt flavour. Dull
