I bet Jeremy Paxman didn't have many starters before ten. This is mine, albeit with a Wetherspoon breakfast alongside. Steady golden brew, good hoppiness, does a job.

Bottle (from Ales by Mail). Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is pine, some hay, grass and mild citrus with some earth to it. Flavour is citrus, pine, mild spices as well as some herbs and mild sweet malts. Goes down easy and in amounts, if needed.

7th Aug 2019, cask at the GBBF. Straw blonde with a white head, piney, spicy hop nose with a citrus undertone, taste similar; another citrusy brew really.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - light orange and pale malt. Taste - more orange with a biscuit backdrop. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good. Nice orange note.

Cask at the Alma, Harwich. Poured a clear straw colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light dry malt light spice, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Handpull cask at the Cambridge Brewhouse. Light gold, clear as a bell, with a small ring of head and considerable lacing. Light but pleasant flowery aroma, with soft citrus notes. Taste is more engaging than I would have thought, and the hop more prominent: brushes of lemon curd on buttered toast follow to the mellow finish. A good cask golden ale, traditional to the core yet quite delightful.

Hazed golden color with a white head. Fine lacing. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Caramel malty, mild citric and mild fruity flavor. Decent and easy drinkable golden.
