Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Tangy citrus in the nose, hints of ripe white grape and vanilla, pale wood, tangerine, faint funk. Medium sweet flavor with a nice, restrained tartness that cuts into the wheaty sugars. Certainly some alcohol kick, touches of dough, lemon, pale wood, hay. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, lightly woody and drying, with ther lemon, tangerine, melon, alcohol, mellow sugary wheat bread. Excellent stuff. The barrel ageing has definitely taken some edge off the sweetness, and yielded an impressively complex and nicely rounded tripel. Outstanding.

Keg at the brewery. This batch is 9.1%. It pours lightly hazy pale gold with a small, fizzy white head. The nose is soft, rich, vinous, white grape, gooseberry, vanilla, light funk, lemon sherbet and wood. The taste is crisp, bitter - sweet, vinous, white grape, gooseberry, lemon peel, creaminess, champagne vibe, minerals, wood, lactic bite, touch of spice, alcohol warmth and some bread with a dry finish. Medium body and decent, effervescent carbonation. Pretty exceptional. Great beer comparison to sparkling white wine. Perhaps my favourite beer these guys have ever made & it’s a tripel! Feck me.
