Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. The aroma has plenty of yeast and some malts. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with malts, bananas and honey plus hints of cola. Later some bubblegum and strawberries come through as well leading to a slightly fruity finish. A decent attempt at a Belgian Dubbel – hides its strength well.

Handpull cask at the Glass Works, Whittington Moor, Chesterfield. Mahogany, translucent with a small beige head. Clove and dark chocolate in the aroma. Sweet taste, festive spices, some horehound and boiled sweet. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. Okay, not a proper Belgian dubbed but bloody close enough. Masterful.

Bottle from Brampton Brewery Shop, Chesterfield. Reddish-brown, but more of the latter with an extremely thin head. An initial strength in its taste gives way to some excellent darker malts, with a sweetness, but not too much, allowing the yeast to come to the fore in this one.
