Handpull cask at the Queen Edith, Cambridge.dark gold with a loose white head. Flowery, soapy aroma. Full bittersweet taste, slightly sickly floral note and some more soap. Long bittersweet finish. Issues abound, but I rather like this. Calling it an APA is a bit of a stretch though.

Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. Gold with a thick creamy head. Has a tropical fruit nose with a similar crisp taste alongside a bitterness.

Cask at the Bricklayer’s Arms BF, 2011. Clear yellow-gold with a fading foam head. Nose holds some sulphur, hay and mild lemon. Lightly sweet with baked bread, some straw, modest honey and lemon zest. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with hints of sulphur, straw and dough. Alright, aside from the sulphur, of course.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol, 18/8/08. This hit the spot across the board. Deep, clear gold in colour, with a small yet tight white head that left plenty of lacing down the glass. Beautifully balanced, with juicy citrus hops supported by a hint of pine resin, accompanied by slightly doughy, fruity malt. The finish was dry, without being mouth-puckering. I could have drunk this all night, and certainly did long enough to regret it. Excellent all round.
