We went back to the well for this one. It is a remix of our classic Veritas 006 (aka sangria). We have raspberry and cherry providing the bulk of the fruit texture over a sour yellow base beer. To this, we also added some orange peel and freshly zested mandarin orange zest as well. The beer finishes with a nice tannic finish and is truly a refreshing riff on a Lost Abbey classic.

375mL bottle, pours a murky dark orange, no head. Aroma brings out tart raspberries and cherries, a touch of orange peel, and lacto. Flavour is quite perfumey, with tart berries, orange peel, and lacto. Perfumey and tart. A little harsh.

0,15l from tap at Arrogant Sour Festival shared by Iznogud. Reddish / bourdeaux cloudy colour, small white head. Smells of berry notes, nutty, marzipan, some grape notes, bit earthy, citric. Full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes of cherry notes, earthy, lactic, citric, spices, peppery. Finishes rather dry and medium sour with notes of cherries, earthy and citric notes. Very nice one, rather on the sour side though. 8, 4, 8, 4, 16

Bottle bought through Drikkeriget. Pours hazy red with a small pinkish white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and acetic with crackers, lemon juice, raspberries, hay,dry soil, vinegar, leather and lemon zest. Taste is extremely sour, fruity and tiny funky. Mouthfeel is dry, heavy tart, heavy mouth-puckering, throat-burning acetic and light to medium bodied. Finish is Heavy sour with lemon, raspberries, sour cherries, vinegar, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. I’m sure there’s a great beer here somewhere. It’s just hidden by the extreme acidity. --- Beer merged from original tick of Track #7: Devil Inside on 15 Oct 2016 at 21:30 - Score: 6. Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours a deep red with an off-white head that starts at the edges and remains. Aroma is full of sour cherry and raspberries with a good amount of acid with a bit of oak. Flavor is raspberry forward with a sour cherry bite, some acid and some oak.

Bottle. Pours cloudy reddish hazel, medium creamy pinkish tan head, long lasting and laces well. TONS of yeast residue in the bottom of the bottle; Brian would have loved that. Aroma is raspberry, funky horseblanket and musty basement, stems and seeds, perhaps some tart cherry, oak tannins, hints of acetone. Flavor is quite tart, but not mind blowingly (e.g. Upland), very funky, oaky and whole unadulterated raspberries. Funk almost borders on mushroom (not a good thing), but holds itself just shy of that unholy threshold. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not in the class of say LPF, but a solid raspberry sorry. I feel sorry for Homer, his bottle was obviously not well cared for.
