This German-style Altbier is our nod to an old world, old school ale. The word “Alt” is German for "old", and refers to the traditional style of brewing before lager yeast was discovered. Balt is a dark, copper colored brew with a creamy head, a gentle bitterness and a clean, dry finish. Prost, Hon!

Cask at GBBF 2017, day 3 - London. Pours hazy amber with a light, foamy white head. The nose holds leaves and berries. Medium to big sweet flavour, with a little butterscotch, grains. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Sugary finish, with some leafy bitterness, woody dryness, more ripe berries. Eh, pretty so so.

Flavour is composed of of big sweet vanilla, oak, caramel, cakey, apple . Palate is sticky sweet, moderate carbonation. Wtf. Not an alt.
