Keg at James Squire Brewhouse @ Waterfront City, Melbourne, Victoria. Hazy amber, small head. Fruity nose. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Ripe fruit and grass. Salty finish. Dull.

330ml can. Golden amber colour, off-white head leaving some lacing and aroma is malt caramel, fruity. Taste is sweetish malt with caramel, toffee, honey, oak, fruity hop notes and a light bitterness. Creamy mouth feel, light bodied, well carbonated. Quite OK.

It’s a bottle I picked up in Seoul at an import supermarket in Itaewon. It pours a great amber gold with a lot of effervescence. The aroma was mild & fruity with hints of peach or kumquat...? It has a great body with a nice mouthfeel over a caramel malt base & a very mild fruity hop finish. As I continued to drink it, it started to remind me of Old Speckled Hen or other average run of the mill UK beers from Yamaya... a bit of a let down, it could use a better hop finnish which would push the rating up a lot.

Dobre, zwłaszcza z wyglądy. Piana jak kożuch, mocno się zaznacza na szkle. Kolor złoto miedziany. Aromat drożdzowy. W smaku średnia goryczka i owocowość umiarkowana.

Can on a Qantas flight. Deep gold with plenty of fizz. Sweet aroma and flavour with a caramel edge and orange fruit. Flavour was dryish with a touch of hop. Ok.

Tap (Barney Allen’s). Orange, tight white head. When really cold - as it was served - it’s pretty much like any vaguely decent Australian lager. There’s a bit more body from well-defined malt and upon a bit of warming, there’s some earthy and citrus hops on the nose. If you look at it as an alternative to VB it’s good (and I guess that’s what they were going for) but this is nothing much.

From a 345ml bottle on 30/12/2009. Has a floral aroma, and a pleasant and quite distinctive sweetish, citrus fruit flavour, with some restrained bitterness. One of the best James Squire standards, this is a nice sessional brew. Pleasing to see it increasingly available on tap around the traps.
