Sweaty Betty Blonde is a refreshing, unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. The Weihenstephan yeast gives this brew subtle hints of clove and banana with an attractive, hazy blonde color. For the best flavor, rouse any settled yeast by swirling the bottom of the bottle.

Tap @ Boulder Beer DIA. Cloudy yellow appearance with a pearl white head. Nice banana and clove notes in the yeasty, weizen nose. Refreshing yeasty wheat ale with good banana and clove notes with a fairly dry finish. I forgot how solid this beer is.

Pours a slightly hazy golden straw color with a tiny white head quickly fades to a ring on the top. Smells of banana clove, spicy wheat, and a hint of phenolic. Taste is sweet upfront followed by a clove and banana assault with a hint of lemon in there. A spicy tartness rounds us off with maybe a hint of metallic. Is this a pale wheat? Hefeweisen? Lines are very blurry. Medium body, tart and syrupy mouthfeel, medium level of carbonation. Not my favorite beer by any stretch. Its light and easy to drink, might be good on a hot summer day, but its kind of bland with nothing really exciting happening.

Looks promising, with a fluffy head and a hazy light-gold color. The nose is much darker that you would expect, dripping with bread-laced wheaty funk, plus the essential bananas and cloves. Hits every note you want in a wheat beer; starts out like white bread, then hits (altogether now) bananas and cloves, with a honey-dipped finish. Terrific after Rising Moon and Wacko. (4/20/09)

On tap @ the Sunset Grill. Hazy lemonade like pour with a very head that left nearly no lacing. Mild carbonation. The aroma is bursting with clove, banana, wheat grain, and fruity dough. The nose is very pleasant. The flavor mimics the aroma in many ways- lots of wheaty banana and spice with a great fruity dough yeast background. The palate is light and smooth. Very easy to drink. Not sure how this would translate in a bottle. But better then average on draft.

This wheat ale poured a crystal clear, yellow colour with a big, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of cheese, dough and leather. Very thick aromas, not really good at all. First sip was not too bad with flavours of yeast, spice and soap with a slight flavour of cheese. Finish is of cooked veggies with added flavours of lemon citrus and more spices. Palate is earthy with a spalsh of dirt and rotten vegetables...not good.

Bottle (marked APR2110) thanks to jbye4334. Pours with a very pale, hazy yellow body and a white head. Aroma of plastic, citrus, body odor, earth, wheat, and grass. Taste is wheat, citrus, light banana, and freshly baked bread. Fizzy, thin and dry mouthfeel.

Draught at Papago Brewing Co., Scottsdale, AZ
Muddy light blond color. The aroma is light, citrusy and fruity. Weak mouthfeel, light flavor, with very light wheat, light citrus fruits and chamomile. Low bitterness. Refreshing but very simple.

November 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 12/8/09
Aroma: The aroma on this one is fruity up-front (citrus, banana, peach) along with some spice and yeast
Appearance: Pours a quite cloudy yellow color with a bright and a fluffy white head, lots of lace
Flavor: Flavor is pretty sweet with a strong yeast flavor similar to the nose
Palate: This beer has a pretty smooth mouthfeel, it drinks pretty nicely, though it is a bit on the light side
Overall Impression: My overall impression of this one is that it fairly predictable and drinkable. It doesn't offer a ton outside of that. I'm glad to see the beer of the month club was at least capable of sending me something from Colorado, but Boulder's stuff isn't really that hard to find around here. I haven't had this particular one before though, so I guess that is a semi-victory.

Light babyfood peach aroma. Shimmering yellow, headless. Peach and banana flavor with a hop accent, lemon zest finish.Very subtle notes of clove are present. Not terribly in your face, but quite good and somewhat distinctive.
