Pint from the cask at Eagle & Child, Staveley. Enjoyed by the small river opposite the pub. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, fruit, hops & malt. Medium body. Light bitter finish

Cask @ Luton Beer & Cider Festival. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 160218

Cask @ 35th Luton Beer & Cider Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, hops, caramel and has a light bitter finish.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2013, day 3 - London. Pours clear gold with a faint, white foam head. Pale bread and orange citrus in the aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor, with moderate juicy citrus, hay, more pale bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Sweet finish with notes of white bread, straw, dough, moderate dry lemon. Nice and drinkable.

Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is sweet fruit loaf, nutty, light caramel. Clear golden coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Flavour is nutty, twig, raisin, dried fruit, straw, fruit loaf. Palate is semi sweet moderate cask condition. Slightly creamy in the tongue. Fairly simple beer. Some grain tannin in the finish. Firm English hop bitterness.

[ As Barngates Tag Lag ].Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, caramel, pale malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, straw, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130814]

Bottle from the Cartmel village shop. Appearance - golden amber with a nice head. Nose - biscuits and spice. Taste - more spicy biscuits with a hint of underlying lemon. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent crunchy bitter.
