From the remixed tracks, Track 3 is a pale sour beer — A blend of two barrels of Mellow Yellow (a popular component in many of our sours), and Phunky Duck (a base beer in the blend that becomes Duck Duck Gooze).

Mega Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Lightly hazy pale gold beer, residual white head. Light palate, mildly crisp. Mellow sourness turning a little acetic. Light lemon fruit. Worcestef sauce. Finishes dry. It’s tasty but too acidic for me to want much of it.

Bottle, generously shared by Kenny at the Big Friday tasting. It pours lightly hazy golden with a minimal white head. The nose is wood, vanilla, coconut, sour peach, apricot and sherbet. The taste is crisp, tart, sherbet, sour peach, apricot, some acidity juicy white grape and a touch of alcohol with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A lot of Duck Duck Gooze character about it. Smooth, crisp and very drinkable. One of my favourites of the box set.

Bottle shared at the BIG Friday tasting, massive thanks to our Ken for sharing the entire track set and also to Bruce for providing the accompanying music 03/01/14. Murky yellow orange with moderate off white edgework. Nose is tarte citric fruit, burnt/roasted nuts, straw, lemon rind, citric dipped hay. Taste comprises bitter fruits, lemon rind, light acidic strains, dank wood, hay, funk, tarte lemon curd. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte dry closure. Decent sour, easy drinking, lemon focussed, not a huge amount of complexity though.

Bottle shared during the Track Set portion of the Brokeback Revisited tasting. Paired with the proper song, of course. Thanks to Kenny! Pours mostly clear, deep yellow-orange with a few bubbles for a head. Good and clean in the nose, a bit of hay, lemon, funk. Light sweet flavor with balanced but assertive tart lemon, tangerine, light acidity. Light to medium in body with delicate carbonation. Clean and twangy to finish, more tart lemons, mild sweat, faint bitter hay and citrus rind. Wonderful stuff. Don’t think the song paired well, though.

Bottle @ The Lost Tasting Of Abbey Beers, Odense 2013. Pours cloudy yellow with a small off white head. Funky, tart and oaky nose. Plenty of manuer. A bit of vinegar and lots of oak notes. Tart and dry finish.

Bottle @ The Lost Tasting Of Abbey Beers, Odense 2013. Hazy golden with a tiny white head. The aroma has malt, a little pineapple and raisin, and plenty of oak and brett - plus a faint hint of acetone. The flavour is sweet and fruity with a rather sharp acidity, not unlike fresh, unripe pineapple. Wooden notes and a hint of alcohol

Bottle pours with a deep hazy gold body supporting a tiny head of foam that dissipated so quickly I wasn’t able to take note of the color. Oh well. The aroma offers up a mix of lime, sun soaked apricot and vinegar with a touch of acidic smelling citrus. The taste is acidic, crushed aspirin and some vinegar. The vinegar plays a pleasing roll of not allowing the acidic and crushed aspirin tartness and puckeriness from getting out of control. Overall this still is too tart and acidic to enjoy so the vinegar didn’t really do enough.
