Bottle. Pours murky dark brown with small white head. Aroma is vague and mostly malty with a bit a apples. Taste is very intense, starting light sweet then turning medium bitter and medium acidic and faint salty. Body is creamy with light sparkling carbonation. Finish is long and balanced bitter and acidic with notes of grapefruit, lime, caramel, coffee, chestnut, sundried tomatoes and ammonium chloride. Very rich and complex flavour.

Bottle. A lightly hazy brown beer topped by a small, beige head. The aroma is quite malty, with molasses and beef stock, roasted malts and cofffee, some pine cones. It’s full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation level. Dryish. Roasted malts, beef stock, dark sugar and some coffee in the flavor, a good bitterness too. Lasting finish. A pleasant one, sure on the malty side, but with enough bitterness and a low enough level of sweetness to prevent it from being even close to cloying. 141220
