American Amber Ale.

Godt humlet amber, men maltlukter ligger under. Medium kullsyre.

330 ml bottle. Almost clear deep amber to brown body with a fine, big, tan head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, slightly roasted bread, citric fruit and hint of chocolate. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, toast, citric fruit, chocolate and balanced bitterness. Medium body and OK in aftertaste. The malt and chocolate flavor makes this a bit like a crossover amber/brown ale IMA. Nice for a 4,5 ABV beer.

Bottle. It pours an unclear, dark orange-brown body under a dense, finger-thick light beige colored head. The aroma is very citrusy and piney, with an underlaying roasted touch. Some nuttyness and caramel too. Peachy hints and some licorice in the far back. It has a nice bitterness in the mouth, in a piney, resiny citrus peel way, supported by caramel malts and nutty notes. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, quite dry even though there’s some sweetness. Dry, bitter and yet balanced finish. I’ve seen better looking beers than this, but that doesn’t mean too much, as it’s definitely a fine brew I’ll have again. Some cheese and mustard was perfect to have on the side. 141123

330ml bottle, batch 190, bought at Meny Lade. A fawn-coloured head reduced to a patchy layer. Clear, amber-red coloured body. Spotty lacing. Aroma of ripe lemon with a note of pumpkin. Malt-fruity taste , dried fruits, pumpkin, earth, and brown malts. Fruity bitterness to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Quite alright (hotel room, Trondheim 30.10.2014).
