Brown with a foamy, off-white head. Toffee aroma. Mineral water. Cola-like tones. A mild fruitiness, mostly prunes. Taste is moderate sweet with burnt caramel undertones. Finishes burnt bitter and a touch metallic. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation. Alcohol well hidden. Not bad, but didn’t grow on me.

33 cl bottle purchased at the brewery. It seems suitable to have the first Christmas teamed beer on 'J-day'. Dark amber colour with a golden tint and a thin, off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, fruits, liqourice, grasses and a lightly toasted note. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Sweet finish with caramel malts and fruits. Light booze. One of the few enjoyable beers from Refsvindinge.

Nice clear dark nutty color with a soon vanishing tan head. Dried fruits and some veggie notes. Hmm…. Medium + body and a mellow carbonation level. A bit to sweet actually. Oily texture. Dried fruits, bready and toffee in the flavor. No sticky alcohol.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.5%. Brewed with glucose syrup and sugar, caramel colour added. Mahogany colour, moderate to low beige head. Moderate but pleasant malty aroma with strong notes of caramel, a hint of spices. Very malty flavour, medium sweet (not too much), with distinct notes of caramel. A hint of spices and moderate hops in the finish. Very "old school", and a pleasant surprise. Would buy again.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Refsvindinge Stærke Julius ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, sweet malt, burnt candy - sugar, caramelized malt - candy sugar. Flavour is moderate to heavy with a long duration, caramelized sugar, sugary, candy, burnt candy - sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20141025]
