Ale with agave, golden lime, & grapefruit and lime extracts.

While sipping mimosas on a Sunday afternoon, our Wood Cellar Blender, Lauren Limbach, was gifted a new foeder (large oak barrel) that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday. The first beer she created from that barrel was a mimosa-inspired golden sour called “Dominga: Goddess of Brunch.” Now we are excited to introduce the cocktail-inspired version, Dominga Grapefruit Paloma. Inspired by the classic cocktail of Mexico, Dominga packs a refreshing combo of bright grapefruit and lime flavors, along with agave and a pinch of salt.

On tap at New Belgium Denver Airport, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Nose is full of bright grapefruit juice, a touch of lime, and gentle salinity. Flavour is juicy and yet dry, with lots of grapefruit juice, lime, and a pinch of salt, finishing with just enough residual sugar. A bit too soft drink-like and not enough complexity; lacks the wood character that is allegedly part of the base blend. It’s alright.

On tap at New Belgium - DEN. Pours nearly opaque golden blonde with a small white head. Grapefruit juice with a touch of salt on the nose. Flavour has grapefruit juice, fresh grass, a touch of lime. Tastes more like fruit juice than beer.

Can from Binny's. Went for a bunch of fruity and chelada type beers this weekend. Pours kind of hazy, big head of fizzy foam. As advertised, a grapefruit and lime nose, but still with some light malts. Taste has grapefruit on top, and still some light beer on top. It's just not sitting well with me though. Too much radler grapefruit charact.

Can/Fest. A- Squirt. A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Squirt. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, refreshing finish. O- Really nice stuff. This would be my go to mower beer. Grapefruit, slightly tart, faint salt, dash of lime. This is a lively graepfruit soda flavor. Really does taste like a paloma with even a hint of oak from the barrel.
