Nagy, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Karamelles, malátás, gyömölcsös, kissé kenyeres illat. Karamelles, malátás, enyhén aszalt gyümölcsös íz. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, kissé kesernyés. Jól iható, jó egyensúllyal rendelkező sör.

16 oz. can. Pours red, fizzing up to a nice amber foam. Nose is not very distinctive, just a nice note of beer and malt. Nice malty taste to it, and the alcohol wanders in pretty quickly. A bit of phenol in the taste, and that may be because this is a little old (dated 11/2/22). But that's often what I get from doppelbocks. Usually from the imports, not from one made closer to home. Ah, well, it is what it is.

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, red color, with a big, frothy, tan head. The aroma is cherry wood, pumpernickel, pine straw, and toffee. Sweet and malty, with a mild, smooth bitterness. Medium to heavy body, chewy, and biting. Pretty solid.

Very deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall off-white and tan head that fades quickly and leaves a small lace on the sides. Aroma of roasted malt, hazelnuts, earth, pine, a dash of coffee and some chocolate towards the end with a dry characteristic from the malts with a hint of earth and chocolate as well. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy and very nutty qualities come through with some chocolate, earth, grain, earth and toffee along with a slight molasses and sweet note towards the end that brings out a bit more richness and character and finishes with the robust chocolate and earthy notes that this starts off with. Overall, a nice and robust beer, full of rich earthy, grainy and malty notes with a light dose of chocolate and molasses towards the end, but enough sweetness and caramel to hold this off in terms of balance. A nice beer overall, and great to sample here in New York, miles away from Chicago! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Bread & Honey in New York (56th @ 8th Ave), New York on 04-December-2021 for US$5,49 sampled walking the streets of New York on 05-December-2021 with my family.
