A dark India Pale Ale packed with dank, resinous hops. The addition of de-bittered black malt creates a captivating dark color while crystal malt adds caramel-like flavors. Sanitas’ flagship Black IPA delivers a sharp uppercut of citrusy, floral hop character with a subtle roast note in the finish.

On line Sanitas tasting. Almost black color. Aroma of dark malt, citrus hops, resin. Taste, solid malty base, moderate roasted notes, followed by nice citrus hoppy bitterness with resin. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Best beer from tasting.

Can via Beermalade. Very good Black IPA. High bitterness, but balanced by light chocolatey maltiness. Med-full body, med-high carbonation. The hops character is kinda hidden beneath roast, but they also kinda work together, as is standard in black IPAs. Resinous, grassy, but also kinda citrusy. Very easy drinking, very good.

Nitro taster at Colorado Plus. Pours black, with a pretty, cascading nitro, tan head. Big pine and floral hop aromas, with some bitter coffee, toffee, and burnt toast. Sweet and malty, with a heavy bitterness. Medium body, with a syrupy, creamy mouthfeel. This is a solid black IPA, if a bit harsh.

Can split at L42, thanks to Leighton, 26/09/17. Extremely dark mahognay brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is charr, earthy roast, dusty hops, pine needle, fruit rinds. Taste comprises roast malts, dried red berries, toffee, burnt biscuit, charr, pine, cocoa powder. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close peppered with balanced earhy hop bitterness. Tidy enough CDA action offered here.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton for the can. Almost clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin and mellow malts, modest dark chocolate. Little esters and light pine. Modest hop spice and ripe citrus. Light finish. Easy going CDA.

Can at L42 - thanks to LKS. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweaty, sticky, toasted malt, burnt pin, greenness and charred wood. The taste is bitter - sweet, charred wood, coffee grounds, roasted malt, toasty grain, tar and liquoirce. Medium body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a bit raw. Not bad.
