Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 13C). Can 44 cl - Batch unknown (BBF 04/05/2018). AROMA: combination of meidum rosted malts (toasty, slight bready and toffee) and medium-low floral hops with an earthy hint. slight hop oxidation. APPEARANCE: dark brown color with ruby highlights against light. medium light brown head with medium retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with notes of roasted malt (toasty, slightly toffee) and hops (floral, slight earthy). medium bitterenss with a dry finish and slightly bitter. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a porter with aroma tilted towards hops showing slight oxidation notes (already past its best before date, demands re-tasting).

Can from Fuggles Beer Cafe Tonbridge and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Roasted dark malts on aroma with a little dark fruit. Some charcoal. Very light powder. Dark chocolate flavour touch of dark cherry flavour. Decent enough. Maybe trying a bit too hard.

Can at Toms. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is fresh, pine needles, bright citrus, orange sherbet, chocolate, Terry's Chocolate Orange, coffee grounds and rocky road. The taste is dry, bitter, toasty, roasted malt, toasted pine, cracked black pepper, tannin, black tea, orange rind and burnt toast with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome stuff. Good gear.

0.44l can. Dark brown body with a dark beige head. Strong hop notes in the aroma (blackberries, tangerine) with chocolate and cocoa. Taste of berries, tangerine, grapeseed, cloves, toast and chocolate. Pretty much like a good black IPA. Nice beer.
