Rocky light brown head stayed on a dark brown body. Oak, red berry & red wine aroma. Medium bodied, soft with a tingle on the back & clean aft. Oak, tannin, red wine & berry tastes with a lightly smoked peppery finish. Very nice - Quite classy.

Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting 22/06/2023. Thanks to LKS. A mostly clear mahognay dark brown coloured pour with a halo of beige head. Aroma is nutty rustic dark malts, rye bread, spicy, hint of funk, waxy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty dark malts, waxy, dried apple, waxy, papery, Palate is semi sweet, light vinous, fruits, highish carobnation.

6th Floor bottleshare with the usual suspects. Thanks to LKS. Pretty much a clear brown beer, no real head. Palate is light and crispy, semi dry. Thin dark malts, watery even. Whisper of roast, a few esters way back in the background. Wine? Pretty subtle. Inoffensive bit a bit bland to be frank.

Bottle shared in Canary Wharf - picked up online. Pours clear brown with a small creamy tan head. Medium sweet flavour, mellow roast, dark fruits, berries, earth, red wine, a little burnt wood. Decently balanced finish, subtle semi-dark berries, red wine, cocoa, earth. Tasty.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Dark brown body with a short-lived beige head. Lively carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of red wine, cherry, smoke and rust. Flavour of dark chocolate, red wine and soy sauce. Thin body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Unique and interesting. Incredible value for a barrel-aged 750ml bottle.

Black beer, light tan head. Smells malty, woody. Flavour has the same, with some fruit, wood from the barrel again, a smokiness and a red wine hit too. Nice body, lovely balance to it. This is quite interesting and very tasty.
