Tap at Olutexpo 2017, Helsinki. Color is black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Booze, rum, raisins, ripe fruits, some vineous elements, coffee and roasted malts. Pretty aggressive.

From the barrel through the bunghole at the source. Black color. Tannic aroma. Taste has booze, dark roast coffee, lots of tannins. A big beer.

Sample drawn from the barrel at the brewery. Black colour, thin beige head. Aroma of lots of oak, rhum, boozy brown sugar, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Flavour is medium sweet to sweet, rhum, booze, vanilla, light wooden bitterness, roast, chocolate, coffee, bittersweet finish. Medium to full bodied. What an improvement from the base beer! Great stuff.

Direct from the barrel at the source, RBESG ’17. Near black with no head. Aroma of heavy rum, oak barrel, booze, chocolate, fruity rum notes, fudge, toffee and malt. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at TCBW 2016. Pitch black with a beige head. Strong roasty aroma with rhum, wood and dark dried fruits. Certainly smooth, fairly sweet, but well balanced. Nice and flavourful with nice roasty flavours and a fine bitterness in the end. Tasty stuff!
