One of the best things about winter at Salikatt is getting in new hops from the fresh harvest. And this beer is about Comet hops. The description says "wild American” flavor, in addition to mandarin, lemongrass, black currant, apricot and pineapple in the aroma. The base of the beer is soft, slightly sweet from the addition of lactose, and with a light bitterness in the finish.

440 ml can, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, esp. pineapple, citrus, lactose and spruce. Refreshing flavour with the same elements as the aroma, low bitterness. Good beer, but I am getting a bit of deja vu feeling with this style.

0,44 litre Can, from Gulating Hamar. Hazy yellow with white head. Malts, hops, yeast, Citrus, stonefruit, some herbs, sweetness.

8-3-7-4-14 Can, #424, two weeks after canning. Pours cloudy pale yellow, with a big creamy head receding to finger thickness. Aroma is grassy hops with tropical notes of apricots, mango and citrusy notes of grapefruit, as well as hay and wheaty minerals. Medium to full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is grassy hops with with dusty tropical notes of peaches, citrusy notes of grapefruit and lime, as well as fruit pits and minerals. Grassy finish with dusty minerals. Smooth and chuggable.

0,44 boks nyankommet fra bryggeriet og viderebefordret over Fristerens disk: uklar strågul med fint skum som varer. Superfrisk og innbydende på alle måter, her finner jeg mye å glede meg over - grapefrukt, mandarin/clementin, ananas og noe gress/urteaktig som gir en litt pepret avslutning. Meget rund og behagelig munnfølelse. Lekkert som alltid fra Bjarte&co, og mersmaken bare varer og varer.
