We first brewed Mavka with Ukraine's Varvar Brew in 2018, it's beer that has remained close to our hearts. When we learned about the work of NOXAIDUK through James at Hook Norton, we wanted to support their incredible efforts by bringing Mavka back once more. 50p from each can sold will go directly to supporting humanitarian aid trips from Banbury to Ukraine. 440ml can from the brewery. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee and coconut. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a silky smooth, rich, roasty, dry spicy coffee, coconut, chocolate, light boozy, liquorice bitter palate and an oily mouthfeel. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg at Mother Kellys. Opaque dark brown black beer, decent tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, decent dark chocolate underpinned by a nice creamy dark chocolate. Fruity dark chocolate on the back end. A little dark chocolate Malteasers. Tastes mildly barrel aged, such is the richness. Light and mildly alcohol spicy finish. Nice brew, slips away!
