Clear deep ruby red beer, small aery irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of cherries, bit sweet, some cinnamon. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very acidic, sourish, lots of sour cherries, fruity, bit of candy. Aftertaste: very acidic, sour, lemon juice, some vinegar, lots of cherries, too sourish.

Thnx to Nico ! Pours extremely full-colored red/purple, no head. Smell is intense, wet cherries, vinegar notes, some oak. Taste is extremely full. When I say extreme, I mean totally homerun here ! This is the most full taste I ever had in a lambic ! Extremely much cherries ( schaarbeekse ) that have a ’wet’ character you’ll find in all good cherrie beers, as well as the typical schaarbeekse notes. But again, the intensity !!! the fleshyness of the fruits make it almost chewy, rubbery - if that makes any scence for you reading this - strictly ment positive though ! The sourness is harsh and extreme as well. Big vinegar flavor, PH was measured with a strip ( out of curiousity ) and came out around 3. This beer doesn’t win any price in drinkability, you’ll sip this like a cognac. But it does taste better than a cognac for sure.

Sampled as Schaerbeekse kriekenlambic which I got confirmed is the same as this one. Bottled pure, no lambic added when bottling in order to carbonate because this would destroy the fruity flavours which explains the other Hanssens bottled fruit beers. Pours an incredible, deep ruby red with no head. Nose is intense pure, real kriek, like holding a plate in your hands, lots of pits as well, light herbs, nicely natural fruit tart,… amazing. Taste Is utterly incredible, pure kriek, taste, light Christmas herbs, lots of red wine & oodles of pits, red wine and strong tartness follow in the finish, quite sour and tart and nice added smidgon of acid. Completely flat, absolutely incredible – this should be sold in Belgium.
