Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Copper coloured with an off-white head. Despite opening with a dry, twiggy bitterness, this turns out to be quite a fruity little number. Red apples and strawberry jam are backed up with plenty of malt and a touch of caramel. I rather enjoyed this - a pleasant surprise from a brewery that I'm not normally that fond of.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] Bright amber pour with a tight creamy head; malty aroma; smooth and creamy in the mouth with a fruity malt taste and a light hedgerow hop bitterness; then a biscuity malt finish. A gentle old-fashioned malty bitter.
