Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Copper coloured with an off-white head. Despite opening with a dry, twiggy bitterness, this turns out to be quite a fruity little number. Red apples and strawberry jam are backed up with plenty of malt and a touch of caramel. I rather enjoyed this - a pleasant surprise from a brewery that I'm not normally that fond of.

Cask at the Duke of St Albans, Highgate on 6th June 2025. Clear copper with shallow, yellowy white foam and full lacing. Leafy hops in aroma. Fruity and nutty in-mouth, nuttiness lasting into the finish where it dominates. Smooth mouthfeel and a fair bit of body.

Cask at The Park Tavern, Eltham. Amber pour with a white head. Nose is banana toffee, caramel. Taste is much the same, quite a malty bittersweet vibe. Not bad.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] Bright amber pour with a tight creamy head; malty aroma; smooth and creamy in the mouth with a fruity malt taste and a light hedgerow hop bitterness; then a biscuity malt finish. A gentle old-fashioned malty bitter.
