Cask @ NWAF ’14, Derby. Chestnut with a hint of red. Peppery and slightly urinary aroma. Nice though. Unfocused but intriguing bittersweet taste, carrying the peppery hop through the flavour. The whole is better than the sum of the parts, creating a lovely beer.

Cask at George on the Strand. It pours cloudy amber with an off-white film. The nose is earthy, wood and leather. The taste is earth, rye, wood, leather and light spice with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Drinkable enough, if a little unexciting.

Cask at the 14th Egham Beer Festival. Bright amber with a pillow-like cream head; subdued grainy aroma; grainy in the mouth too, with a definite note of rye; then a bready finish with a pleasant underlying bitterness.
