Backlog October 2016. Dark brown, almost black body under a small beige head. Aroma has caramel, dark malt and hint of licorice. Taste is smooth, mild roasted dark malt, caramel, chocolate, decent bitterness and just as hint of licorice. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Feels a bit smoother and sweeter than the original but this might as well be the storage.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a surprisingly vague black with a burgundy hue and a tiny, beige head. Nose is spicy, licoricey and very sweet. Rich, sweet body, hardly any roastiness in this - they must’ve used a ton of white sugar to beef up the alcohol in this one, Fennel I don’t know, but licorice indeed. Very much a candy beer, 051016

Bottle. It pours a creamy, two-finger dark beige head leaving lacings. More or less black body. Sweetish aroma with licorice and roasted matls. Dark sugar, some hops and a faint woody hint. The flavor is sweet and licorish-ish, with roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and some soy notes. Full body, lightly warming and smooth on the palate. Lasting sweet, roasted finish with amounts of licorice. Pretty nice this one too. 150522
