Pitch black color. Thin dark brown head. I love the unique Buffalo Trace bourbon in the nose, i wish more breweries used these barrels. Intense molasses, rich velvety dark chocolate, licorice and charcoal notes. Slightly salty. Very low carbonation. In fact too low to the point of being next to flat. Really loses points on the mouth feel. Slightly sweet. Mouth is much more linear than the nose with lots of bourbon, dark chocolate and lactose notes. Finishes mildly sweet with bourbon and dark chocolate with lactose notes, but a bit lifeless. So much potential.

Pours the thinnest of all the BA stouts, this one pours out like a coke. Fizzy head, pitch back. The first impression on the nose was akin to that of a lambic or a sour. On the follow up, it shows hints of the dark malts and coffee beans underneath. The palate showed surprisingly the same. Some tartness, medium bodied, some of the roast malts appear on the finish. A little bit of the adzuki/red-bean sweetness on the back end also.
