Deep red in color, crystal clear with a very complex malt profile. The hops profile supports the high ABV while not being necessarily bitter. Balance and harmony in all forms with stone fruit, caramel and some earthy notes. A light boozy and mild brandy finish.
This beer will cellar and age nicely

Can from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Malty aroma with caramel, toffee, dried fruits, red fruits, with a light boozy finish like a cognac or - indeed - brandy. Flavour is rather sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is medium to full. Pure malt fury, bit like a liqueur, quite rich. Makes me want to smoke a cigar.

Keg at Beer Temple. A light haze on this deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Smooth light palate, fairly dry, good fine carbonation. A thin creamy sweet malt backbone, decent caramel and a touch of woodiness coming in from somewhere. Ripe fruits, creamy prune and dates. Mild spice. Touch of ripe berries. Dry crisp finish. Could possibly pass for a barleywine but perhaps a little thin. Decent depth of flavour though. Interesting and satisfying.

Vintage 2018. Slightly hazy amber brown colour, small fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, molasses, sugar syrup, alcohol. Prickly mouthfeel, flavour light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee, raisins, sugar syrup. Full-bodied, sticky texture, flat carbonation, slightly roasted sweet maltbitter finish, burnt sugar, spicy notes, boozy, whole feel not too heavy, good.

(Draught at Beer Tempel, Amsterdam, 26 Aug 2019) Reddish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, orange peel and apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, dried fruit, orange peel, dried apricots, raisins and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Almsot full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, well balanced and warming. Nice one.
