Bottle courtesy of Jan at Craigs doing a Chris O tasting, Edingburgh (ta for the beer Jan) Friday 14th March Pours dark mahogany, if this is barrel aged (it appears to be but I maybe wrong) the aroma has picked up a lot from the barrel, there is chocolate, bit powdery its thick in mouth, oily texture, warming there is a slight nod towards Riga Black Balsam. Good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Dark mahogony brown with a moderate tan swirl and edgework. Nose is lightly oxidises, tarte berry fruit, light cocoa, musty. Taste comprises dark toffee fudge, light must, earthy cocoa powder, tangy dark berries, lactic tang. Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok but seemed a little stale and perhaps a little too much lactic presence.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A brown beer, almost clear, and with a dense, minimal sized beige head. Oxidised aroma with roasted malts, some berries and coffee. Full to medium body with a soft carbonation level. Roasted malts, coffee and some sweetish dried fruits in the flavor. Some sourish hints. Lasting finish with roasted malts and some bitterness. A bit unusual, but sure a nice one. 140301
