17th December 2014
Hazy deep amber beer with a few pale cream colour bubbles not being a head. Palate is light and semi dry and has modest fine carbonation, Light malts with mild caramel. Sourish fruits! Sourish fruits? Mmm! Marmalade. Light dry finish. It’s an okay beer in it’s own right but never ever a DIPA.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Tryst Double IPA ].Hazy matt medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, flowers, perfume, sharp. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, tropical fruit, fruit tart. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140316]

Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours clear amber with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is orange sponge cake, muffin, grapefruit and pine. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy, strong grapefruit, orange, oily, booze, wood, resin and light spice with a bitter, warming finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Somewhat rough around the edges and lacking a bit in carbonation. Decent nonetheless.

330ml bottle shared with Jeevan, thanks, but not so much... (I think he poured his share away...) Pours orange, no head save a few bubbles. Aromas are bitter orange, taste is strangely watery with more bitterness. Oily and not nice. Might need a few months to condition - in which case, dinnae sell it now.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Murky amber body with a thin off-white head that holds well. Nice lacing. Aroma of lemon, lime and vine tomatoes. Sharp flavour of sour citrus fruit and oranges. Not much malt character. Medium body with a flat, oily mouthfeel. A sharp flavoured, flat bodied, rough-around-the-edges DIPA. Although it’s pretty good, it doesn’t live up to Tryst’s finest.
