500 ml bottle purchased from The Tiddly Pomme, Faversham. A clear, dark golden body with a small off-white head. A bit unusually hop aroma, expecting more citric from the cascade, but this is more dominated by grass and hay with a hint of ripe fruit and caramel. Not bad in the nose, just a bit surprised. Flavor is mild malty, some caramel, hint of fruit and rather moderate in bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. A decent ale, but rather straight forward and somehow disappointing from what the label where promising, not much of hop flavors here.

[500ml bottle from farm shop on the A21] Deep gold, caramel and herbs, oddly reminiscent of the Shepherd Neame Rudolph’s Reward I’d had earlier in the day but with the flavours toned down. A little on the sweet side with an oddly clammy mouthfeel. Below par.

50cl bottle from Chapel Down Winery, Tenterden, Kent. Poured bright gold with no head and some light carbonation; aroma of cider apples and caramel malts; rather thin caramel flavour with some dusty hops; the finish is rather disappointing with no sign of the Cascade, and only some dry herbal hops.
