Cask at The White Hart. It pours hazed deep brown with minimal head. The nose is toasted brown bread, earth, wood, dried fruits, plum and spice. The taste is smooth, bitter, earthy, leather, wood, festive spice, chewy malt and toasted brown bread with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. A fairly standard festive spiced beer by all accounts. Lacklustre.

Keg at the brewpub. Pours mostly clear amber-brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds a bit of bread, ripening fruits, some hoisin. Light to medium sweet flavor with background winter spice, dry toasted grains, dry cinnamon, some old wood. Light-medium sweet flavor with more old woody notes, mild leafy bitterness, aged and leathery berries, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finished with decent balance, some further old earthy and woody bitterness, leathery berries, orange peel, old holiday spices. OK. (January 2015, score: 3.2)
Keg at ye olde Cock Tavern - London. Pours moderately hazy, deep amber with a creamy tan head. The nose holds dusty cocoa, winter spices and dry toffee. Medium sweet flavor with dry and toasted grainy bread, some further spices, bitter herbs, more dry toffee, dried berries. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes with notes of dried fruits, berries, slight cocoa, earthy bitterness, burnt leaves. Not bad overall. (Score: 3.5)
